The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has developed a brochure titled "Should You Volunteer?" to educate the public about medical research in general, and help them decide if they might want to participate.
To request printed copies of the brochure, send an email to irb_training@unc.edu. Include your mailing address, the number of copies needed, and whether you want the English or Spanish version of the brochure. (UNC-Chapel Hill researchers may also pick up copies of the brochure at the Biomedical IRB office or the Office of Clinical Trials.)
You may also download a PDF version of the brochure (in English or Spanish):
The following links to web sites developed by the National Institutes of Health and the National Cancer Institute also provide information for individuals who are interested in participating in a clinical trial.
